Cold Sore
Treatment Tactics

Cold sore
treatment? Discover, in this fast article, several well-proven cold sore
treatment secrets with a long history of success. You can start to use them
instantly.
Cold sore treatment is needed by millions of people every minute. Because of
this huge demand for help, the stores are packed with many different cold sore
treatment options.
Caution - don't
get your hopes up. Most of these cold sore treatment products are good for
comfort - but they do not cure or heal cold sores any faster.
Below are some
of my favorite cold sore treatment methods that have worked for people over many
years now. These will greatly shorten the duration period of your cold
sores.
1. GARLIC CLOVES.
Garlic is an old
and proven herbal remedy for many illnesses causes by viruses, bacteria and
fungus. You will find it is great as both an external and internal cold sore
treatment.
You should always use fresh garlic bulbs when possible. Fresh garlic is the most
effective as a cold sore treatment. You can also use garlic oil and garlic
powder from your vitamin store but results will not be as good.
Cut or a garlic clove and rub the oil on the sore. This is an excellent cold
sore treatment during all stages of your sore. Applying garlic oil to the scab
helps prevent painful cracking.
You will get much faster results if you eat some garlic during your cold sores.
Fresh garlic or garlic powder will work well for this. The less you cook it, the
stronger it will be.
Garlic gives you a strong odor that you may not like. If that is a problem for
you, try odorless garlic capsules. They are not great but do help some.
2. LYSINE CONNECTION.
A very popular
and proven cold sore treatment, lysine is excellent for fighting cold sores. You
will get the best results using it as an internal treatment. It needs to get
into the cells. It is not very well absorbed when used directly on
the sore.
By giving your cells large doses of lysine, you crowd out the amino acid
arginine. Arginine is the protein that must be present to create new herpes
virus. Without arginine, the herpes virus cannot replicate - cannot create cold
sores.
You can get a lot of lysine eating Wisconsin cheddar cheese and other dairy
products. But the most convenient is to use convenient lysine capsules.
Those who use lysine as a cold sore treatment will take about 4000 to 6000
milligrams each day during your outbreak. Often the same patients will take 500
milligrams per day to help stave off cold sores.
3. ZINC- THE HEALING MINERAL.
Famous as the
best healing mineral, zinc is an excellent treatment for your cold sores. It
heals and protects you from future infections.
You can buy zinc supplements at any vitamin store. By far your best bet is a
good multi-vitamin supplement that contains about 15 mg. to 30 mg. of zinc plus
other companion minerals.
Do not take more than 50 milligrams daily in supplement form for any length of
time.
You can use certain forms of zinc (zinc sulfate or zinc gluconate) as a topical
treatment as these forms will absorb quite well through the sore.
4. ALOE VERA - AN AMAZING HEALER
The sap inside
the leaves of an Aloe Vera plant has amazing skin healing properties. Apply this
gel to your open cold sores. It heals any sore very, very fast. I
guarantee you will be impressed.
Bottled gel is available but has not proven to work very well as a topical cold
sore treatment. For results you want, always use gel from a live plant. This
cactus-like plant should be in every home - and it is so easy to grow.
Using Aloe Vera is very simple. Just pinch off a short section of leaf and
squeeze the gel right on your cold sores. The plant quickly repairs itself for
the next time.
These cold sore treatment ideas have helped thousands of others - And they will
help you too.
